Practicing yoga with Akalai from Lemurian Yogi has been one of the best experiences.  I’ve been practicing yoga for years, but the knowledge, guidance & support that Akalai brings is hands-down the best. He breaks down each posture so we know exactly what to do, and how we may be physically feeling it. To me, this is important because I want my yoga experience to be focused on the beneficial physical aspects, as well as the spiritual.  I very much appreciate his cues to breathe, body position, and gentle reminders to help me stay present during the practice. Most important to me, Akalai has a deep love for Jesus that is so evident in his work.  To have a yoga teacher who is aligned with Jesus, and striving to serve Him, is the cherry on top of this delicious dessert. I accidentally found Akalai at a time when therapy wasn't moving me forward anymore. He shared a new perspective I hadn't seen or heard before. Complex PTSD and chronic body pain had plagued me for years, Akalai helped me connect the dots. He helped me connect and channel energy for my best life rather than staying stuck in pain. I love that we could do our sessions out in nature, where I am much more at ease. We didn't focus on just one thing: Akalai helped me to see the ties between energy, body movement, nutrition, and thought patterns. I had previously subscribed to the monthly library for Lemurian Yogi and had enjoyed trying a combination of the different types of yoga offered. But there was something magical about participating in the yoga challenge. I needed the encouragement to create a routine that allowed time and space for my yoga practice every single day. And this was the perfect opportunity to do just that. Each session was like Divinely inspired to be exactly what I needed that day. The challenge fell on one of the busiest weeks of the year for me and yet, because I managed to take 20-40 mins and be present with myself, time seemed to multiply that week. I was more focused, slept better and got more accomplished that week! I appreciate the variety of practice in the online library. I also had no idea how life changing the MFR balls are. They are so simple to use yet helped my shoulders and hips tremendously. I woke up with zero hip pain after using them. The wisdom, encouragement included is priceless.

Lemurian Yogi’s 9 day challenge was the perfect compliment to my healing work I was doing at the time. Akalai completely changed my understanding of yoga. I was always bored in yoga practices until now. His gentle reminders to bring me back to breath-work, morsels of knowledge throughout his practice, and clear explanations of what I'm doing and why was so helpful in keeping me engaged but also helping me to understand how I was nourishing myself during the poses. My sleep improved and so did listening to my body! Yin yoga awakened a deeper understanding of how there is more strength in relaxing and melting into the poses vs. it being a competition with myself.

A friend suggested I join her at Akalai Hanui’s yoga class at Cavalier Wine Bar a few months ago.
